"For Resort 2027, I was inspired by the romance of the American West viewed
through an ornate over the top lens. I loved the tension between something
rugged and something highly decorative. The collection combines Western
references with Rococo-inspired textiles and embellishment in a way that feels
feminine, rich, and slightly nostalgic.
Fringe appears throughout the collection, bringing movement and softness to both evening pieces and more relaxed separates. Rococo jacquards are woven in deep velvety tones alongside softer shades of pale blue and buttery yellow, which became an important part of the season’s palette. Hand embroidery continues to be central to the collection, with berry motifs inspired by a rococo silk textile embroidered and hand-beaded across dresses, separates, and knitwear. A favorite look from the collection is a raspberry pink taffeta look featuring a sculpted top
and sweeping maxi skirt. I wanted these pieces to feel polished but still effortless. Outerwear was another focus this season. Embroidered puffer coats bring a sense of practicality into the world of Markarian while still feeling romantic and special. Sheer embroidered midi skirts are paired with our version of a white T-shirt, simple at first glance but finished with tonal embroidery and delicate details that make it feel considered and feminine.
As the collection evolves, there is a continued emphasis on building the Markarian
wardrobe beyond occasion dressing. Knitwear, separates, day dresses, and
outerwear are designed to feel versatile while still carrying the craftsmanship and
romanticism that define the house."
